It's always exciting to come across two separate pieces of literature that employ similar ideas at roughly the same moment in time. You have to wonder, "Is what I've just experienced a coincidence or is there some trend in the air?" I mean, you can't read an article about '50s sci-fi movies without the piece making some sort of reference that the movies are all about Communism and the Cold War...

Broken, calling itself a "dark, lo-fi comedy about head trauma," is one interesting piece of filmmaking. The story unfolds as the fragmented memories of Todd Kellogg, played by Paul Phipps, as he hops through various thoughts and situations, the sum of which add up to his life at the moment. The film was shot on beautiful 16mm and, when it is shown in its pristine state, is something beautiful...
